| 1. | Read 'Sand' on page 4. Ask pupils to say which lines make them laugh. Notice that each line begins with 'Sand'. Clap the rhythm and make up some more lines. |
| 2. | Read 'A Week of August Weather' on pages 8-11. Ask pupils to say how the weather affected the family. Present the poem by reading a verse each in sequence. |
